The Israeli lawmaker’s call for the genocide of Palestinians gets thousands of Facebook likes.

A day before Palestinian teenager Muhammad Abu Khudair was kidnapped and burned alive, allegedly by six Israeli Jewish youths, Israeli lawmaker Ayelet Shaked published on Facebook a call for genocide of the Palestinians.

It is a call for genocide because it declares that “the entire Palestinian people are the enemy” and justifies its destruction, “including its elderly and its women, its cities and its villages, its property and its infrastructure.”

Its a call for genocide because it calls for the slaughter of Palestinian mothers who give birth to “little snakes.”

If the American government took the $15-$20 billion it gives Israel each year and put it into a savings account for the 4.5 million babies born p/yr, every American would receive $8,000-$10,500 upon turning 18 years old. In another option, the US government could give the money away in a lottery and make 15k-20k American millionaires every year. Either of these options would provide an incredible boost to the US economy. But the truth is that $15-$20 billion per year is probably just scratching the surface when we look at the cost of America’s relationship with Israel.

Israeli forces regularly use overwhelming force to suppress any form of protest inside the occupied Palestinian territories, turning nonviolent demonstrations into clashes where “non-lethal weapons” result in mass casualties and even death. Indeed, a recent report by Amnesty International entitled “Trigger-happy: Israel’s use of excessive force in the West Bank” finds that Israeli forces often resort to “unnecessary, arbitrary and abusive” force against nonviolent protesters. Burnat describes how in his village “peaceful demonstrators were killed by weapons made in America.” This is powerfully documented in his brother’s Oscar nominated film Five Broken Cameras.

It is illegal for Palestinians to protest against their occupation, while Israeli settlers are granted extraterritorial rights to openly demonstrate in support of their illegal settler movement.
In addition, Israeli settlers living illegally in the occupied Palestinian territories have carried out countless attacks against Palestinians, for example uprooting olive trees, burning cars and painting racist graffiti on homes, mosques, churches and schools. According to the Associated Press, UN figures published in January show that the annual rate of Israeli settler attacks against Palestinians has almost quadrupled over the last eight years.

Germany Arrests Double Agent Recruited by US to Spy on Berlin’s NSA Inquiry
German authorities have arrested a man identified by media as a German intelligence officer who allegedly passed secrets to the U.S.

German media warned that if the man is found guilty, it would be “the biggest scandal involving a German—American double agent since the war,” The Daily Telegraph reported.

Federal prosecutors said that a 31-year-old German was arrested on July 2 on suspicion of spying for an unidentified foreign power. Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesman, Steffen Seibert, called the case “a serious matter,” declining to elaborate on the prosecutors’ statement.

“The Chancellor was also informed of this case yesterday,” Eibert told reporters in Berlin.

He declined to comment on reports by Der Spiegel magazine and the daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung that the man worked for Germany’s foreign intelligence service, known by its German acronym BND. The newspapers, which didn’t identify their sources, said the man was suspected of passing on information about a German parliamentary inquiry into the National Security Agency and other intelligence agencies in Germany.

Seibert said the inquiry’s committee members had also been informed of the arrest. “I will have to leave the conclusions to you,” he said.

The man reportedly worked as a support technician for the BND agency. He also may have worked closely with the president of the intelligence service, Gerhard Schindler, Die Welter reported.

The arrested man was allegedly a double agent for the U.S. for two years. He met U.S. agents at least three times in Austria between 2012 and 2014 and gave them hundreds of secret documents for which he was paid €25,000 (US$34,000), the Bild newspaper reported, citing security officials it didn’t identify. The documents were seized on a thumb drive containing 218 stolen files and a laptop at the suspect’s home, Bild said.

The emergence of a double agent on top of two German probes into NSA surveillance and espionage threatens to compound a U.S.-German rift following allegations that the NSA spied on citizens and hacked Merkel’s mobile phone. The allegations have caused friction between Berlin and Washington since they were first published last year, based on documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

watching fireworks on the Fourth of July is an annual tradition that never gets old. Towns and cities all over the country are celebrating America’s birthday this week with more than 15,000 fireworks displays.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released June’s jobs report on Thursday. The report was released a day earlier than normal due to Friday being a national holiday. The BLS showed that the economy added 288,000 jobs in the month of June. Also, the jobs numbers for both May and April were revised upwards, revealing that the economy added an additional 29,000 jobs over those two months compared with initial projections. Overall, the unemployment rate dropped to 6.1%, the lowest level the nation has seen since September 2008, when the financial crisis was hitting full steam.

Economic forecasters predicted a good month for jobs in June, but nowhere near this high. For the most part, forecasts figured June would see an addition of about 215,000 non-farm payroll jobs. The actual figures from BLS blew those predictions out of the water. Also, April’s figures were revised up to 304,000 and May’s to 224,000. This represents five straight months where the economy has added 200,000+ jobs.

The prosecution charged the students with violating the protest law, attacking police personnel by throwing rocks at them, injuring two police conscripts, sabotaging a police vehicle, and blocking traffic.

The 2013 protest law mandates that interior ministry approval must be attained before protests can be considered legal. Violators of the protest law can receive hefty fines and prison sentences.

The Tuesday protest resulted in clashes between police and students.

After the dispersal of the protest, education ministry officials met with some of the students and insisted they would look into their demands and investigate exam leaks …

In addition to demanding action on the exam leaks, students also posted three core demands on a Facebook page titled “We Have a Right.”

The first demand is doing away with the current system of determining a student’s university faculty according to the grade point average (GPA) attained. For example, medical and engineering schools are usually the top-ranking faculties, meaning that only students with a high enough GPA can enrol.

The second demand is developing Egypt’s educational system so it can compete with developed countries.

The third demand is respecting the dignity of Egyptian students and teachers.

Around 450,000 students take the final exam nationwide under the new one-year system, while approximately 43,000 others are being tested under the now-phased out two-year system.
